Can-Cara Environment Limited successfully showcased its pivotal role in Jamaica’s water infrastructure during the recent Water Resources Authority (WRA) event themed, ‘Value of Water 2 Me - Embracing Jamaica's Lifeblood’. The exhibition brought together key players from across the island's water sector, offering a unique platform for industry leaders and the public to connect over the vital importance of water management.

The event provided an ideal setting for Can-Cara to engage directly with hundreds of students and adults, offering them insight into the company's operations and the critical nature of sustainable water use. The Can-Cara booth became a hub of activity, with visitors eager to learn how the company treats and distributes water, particularly within the growing Greater Bernard Lodge development.

A standout feature of the day was the water conservation pledge wall. Over 100 participants took the opportunity to publicly commit to specific actions for saving water at home and school. This overwhelming response underscored a shared understanding of the urgent need for protection, conservation, and sustainable use of Jamaica’s water resources.

"We were incredibly pleased with the outcome and the opportunity to have students and adults engage with the Can-Cara brand," said the CEO of Can-Cara, Joseph “Junior” Lincoln, OD. "Seeing the sector come together to demonstrate how water is utilised across different operations and industries really highlights the collective responsibility we all share."

Can-Cara’s Deputy CEO, Stephan Rampair added, "The enthusiasm was palpable, especially from the students. It is encouraging to see the next generation taking such an active interest in how we manage our most precious resource."

Students from primary, secondary, and tertiary levels were particularly drawn to the educational materials provided. The Can-Cara activities, conservation stickers, and water bottles were well-received, serving as practical reminders of the day's lessons. Beyond the giveaways, students gained valuable technical knowledge about water, wastewater, and sewer services particularly in the Greater Bernard Lodge Development in St Catherine. It was noted that the information presented at the booth would directly assist with preparations for primary and secondary exams, and various water resources management courses.

By demonstrating the practical application of water management in real-world scenarios, Can-Cara continues to solidify its position as a leader in the private water sector and a partner in national development.
